Fix Bluetooth problems in Windows

Start with the simple checks. Most Bluetooth failures are a radio that is off, a device that is still paired to another computer, or a driver that did not survive an update.

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices and turn Bluetooth off, wait ten seconds, then turn it on. Also open Quick Settings and confirm Airplane mode is off.
  2. Select the device > Remove device. Put the accessory in pairing mode and choose Add device.
  3. Open Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run Bluetooth.
  4. Open Device Manager, expand Bluetooth, right-click the adapter, and choose Update driver > Search automatically. Restart afterward.

If the adapter is missing from Device Manager, check the PC maker’s site for a wireless driver that matches this PC model, then restart.
