Install Quick Assist

Quick Assist lets another person view or control your PC after you share a code. Only start a session with someone you contacted. A caller who gives you a code and tells you to read it back is not a Microsoft technician.

1. Open Start and search for Quick Assist. If it is missing, install it from the Microsoft Store.
2. To get help, choose Get assistance and sign in if asked. Share the security code with the helper yourself.
3. Read the prompt before you allow control. You can pause or end the session at any time.
4. To help someone else, choose Give assistance, sign in, and share the code through a channel you already use with that person.
