Install Microsoft 365

1. Sign in at microsoft365.com with the account that has Microsoft 365.
2. Choose Install apps, then Microsoft 365 apps. The site builds a download for that signed-in account.
3. Run the installer and wait until it finishes. Office from an old DVD or a different account should be closed first.
4. Open Word and sign in if asked. The account on the install must match the license.

Installing while signed in with a different Microsoft account is the most common cause of an “unlicensed product” banner. Sign out and install again from the licensed account.
